How the Federal ACP works

You deserve to stay connected with family and friends, even when times are tough. The ACP is a federal program that’s designed to help qualifying low-income households connect to the internet with credits up to $30/month (up to $75/month on Tribal lands) toward internet services. We’re just making it easier to get started.

How do I apply for the Federal ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program)?

To apply for the Affordable Connectivity Program, you need to go to ACPBenefit.org to get certified by the FCC National Verifier and qualify for the ACP. Once approved, you must accept the enrollment acknowledgment during your call with a Frontier agent.

After I sign up with the National Verifier for the offer and provide the required information, how will I know if I qualify?

You will receive a confirmation from the National Verifier with approved status.

I filled out the form online, how long does it take to receive a follow-up call to get my ACP discount?

Upon submission of the form we have to confirm your ACP eligibility, which is required to offer you the discount. Upon completion of the confirmation, someone will contact you. It can take up to 5 days from the submission of the form to receiving a call from us.

When can I expect the discount on my bill?

It can take up to 1 billing cycle for the credit to appear on your bill.

How long does the ACP last?

The funding of ACP will continue for as long as it's federally approved. Frontier will notify its participating members if the program is scheduled to end.

If I participate in the Federal ACP, what’s my monthly rate? Is this a contract or term agreement?

Once you’ve enrolled in the ACP, the standard monthly rate for Frontier Essentials Internet will range from $29.99 – $59.99 depending on the speeds available at your address. After application of the $30 federal subsidy for non-Tribal Lands, the monthly rate for service will be $0 - $29.99 off current rates, depending on your internet subscription. This service is non-contractual and does not have a term agreement. Additional products including but not limited to Inside Wire Maintenance, Voice, Frontier Secure products, Frontier TV, Dish TV, etc. are not included in this program and will be billed as an additional monthly charge if you choose to buy them.

What if my internet bill is less than $30?

The ACP discount covers up to $30 for broadband internet service, but if your monthly rate is lower, you can’t receive the balance of the credit. For example, if your internet rate is $29.99, the credit will only cover $29.99 and your discounted rate will be $0.

Are there any installation fees?

The installation fee is waived upon application approval and acceptance of the ACP terms, which must occur prior to your scheduled install date.

Will Frontier conduct a credit check when I apply for service?

As part of standard Frontier policy, all orders for new service are subject to a credit check. The credit check will not impact your ability to qualify for the ACP. If a deposit is required for internet, it will be waived. If you have other services on the account, a deposit may be required.

How often do I need to provide proof of eligibility?

You must qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) in order to participate in the Frontier Essentials Internet Program.

•You must be certified by the FCC National Verifier prior to eligibility of the Frontier Essentials Internet offer.

•Frontier must receive the enrollment acknowledgment acceptance.


At the end of this ACP program, the Frontier Essentials Internet offer will be billed at the regular price. In order to stay with the Frontier Essentials Internet offer, you will be required to meet any eligibility requirements that apply to the offer.

Is a technician required to install service?

Installation will depend on the type of internet services ordered. When you place your order, the Frontier customer service representative will advise if a technician is needed for installation.

Why is my ACP discount removed from my bill?

The ACP requires that you use your internet at least once a month. If you do not use it in any month and you receive a bill with $0 amount, you will receive an SMS/email from us to confirm your usage. You must acknowledge it by the last day of the month that you received the notification; otherwise your discount will be removed in the following month and you will be required to pay the full cost of your internet service. In order to return the credit to your account, you will have to re-start the process from the beginning.

Why was my internet speed downgraded from 500 Mbps or Gig to 100 Mbps?

After enrolling in our ACP offer, if you incur an overdue balance for 90 days and you have not paid to reduce or clear your balance, your internet speed will be downgraded to 100 Mbps.

I moved from an acquisition offer to the ACP, why do I lose my promotional offer and discount?

With the ACP you receive a discount of up to $30 ($75 if you live in Tribal areas), which will bring your internet charge to $9.99 for up to 500 Mbps. If you exit from an acquisition offer prior to the 90 day requirements of receiving the promotional offer, you will lose it. That is the requirement of that offer.

The Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government assistance program that provides eligible households with a monthly subsidy for their internet service of up to $30 (or up to $75 for tribal lands). ACP subsidy is not transferable to another person and is limited to one per household but may be transferred to another provider at any time. If the ACP ends, if you de-enroll from the ACP or if you transfer your ACP benefit to another provider but continue to receive service from Frontier, you will be subject to Frontier’s undiscounted rates, terms and conditions. Price reflects ACP subsidy off current retail price, which is subject to change. Service subject to disconnection if bill is not paid for 90 consecutive days. Equipment return required at disconnection; up to $150 per device if not returned. Other applicable charges and additional services are extra.
